Liberty Village is one of the newer residential pockets in the core and it shows in the mechanical systems. A large share of towers built here in the last decade — the Bliss towers, the Liberty Market condos, the Hanna Ave residences — are equipped with variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, meaning each suite has a small in-ceiling indoor unit fed from a shared refrigerant loop rather than a fan coil on chilled water.

VRF systems have completely different failure modes from fan coils. When a Liberty Village resident calls with 'one room is cold and the other isn't,' we're usually looking at an electronic expansion valve, a communication fault on the branch controller, or a refrigerant charge issue on the shared riser — not a stuck water valve. Diagnosis requires pressure/temperature charting and manufacturer-specific error code lookup, and we come to Liberty Village calls prepared for it.

The other Liberty Village specialty is thermostat and controls work. Most VRF systems here run proprietary wall controllers that don't integrate with generic smart thermostats. We can install compatible controllers or, where the building permits, a manufacturer-approved smart-thermostat gateway.
